i stretched the front suspension out 1/2" today, got it cycling much smoother. no binding or clearance issues right now. just gotta figure out where and how to set the steering up now. im thinking ill end with some kinda BTA setup on it to allow clearance for the suspension to work right.

update time..

i got the front end figured out today, steering is in, motor is wired, fingers are burned, tubework is probably done, and it made its first test run.

i put all the electronics, minus the light controller, into a project box from radio shack and temporarily zip tied it to the chassis. ive got a 45t, FXR, BEC and Rx all out of my old berg comp rig in it. im running 21/84 gearing so it moves along pretty well. i might end up putting a slightly faster motor in it, not sure yet. im pretty damn happy with how it drives so far, tomorrow morning it'll make its first trip out of the front yard up to bootleg canyon, just outside las vegas.

old

new

clear all the way

and decent servo arm protection

mandatory flex shot, on real sandstone i might add.

well the steering is working pretty well. I'm waiting for some new Mayhem 1.9 scale wheels to come in so i mounted my 1.9 rok lox on some spare mayhem wheels for now. weighted up with a total of 12oz, legal for Montana.

this thing really is fun with the 45t/3s/FXR and the 21/84 gearing, on a fresh pack it'll damn near do donuts.

i took her out for her first true test run today up at bootleg canyon. i have to say im totally impressed with how it drives! it made lines that i didnt expect it to, kept up with Greg's losi pretty well actually. its very stable and predictable and the suspension works great! i kinda babied it for the first battery pack, getting used to it and seeing what it could handle. but the next 3 packs were a little rougher, i put it through its paces pretty well today and found a couple little bugs that need to be worked out. overall, im really liking it so far.

well as i stated in my last post, im running the turnigy 1500s now. theyre are awesome batteries, im getting just shy of 1hr out of them.

but today i was running the 1300s since they were charged and the 1500s weren't. i swapped a 35t integy into the buggy and took it up to crawlege today. wasn't going easy on it either, burned up 3 packs in a hour. i really wanna do a scale KOH type race in crawlege. i even started thinking up a race course up the whole canyon from the road to the end.
